Let me give a little background, so you really know what's going on here.  I know some will say that we NEED to do something and fast, the problem is, that seems to be each time a more difficult task than the last second.

Last July 1st Mexico had president elections. 4 principal candidates run for the election. There were only two who were obviously the leaders of the campaign and it was obvious one of them both was to win. These two guys are: Enrique Peña Nieto (EPN) and Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO). EPN is the image of a dictatorship of the party that ruled the country for more than 70 years, called Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI in Spanish). Many human rights, such as freedom of expression, amongst many others were completely controlled by the party and it wasn't rare to hear that someone who criticiced the system ended up tortured and dead, along with families and sometimes friends. Economically speaking, PRI sank the country several times since the 70s, including devaluations that took off 3 zeros from the national currency and put the country in HUGE debt, the main reason of Mexico being, nowadays, third world. The last 12 years Mexico "got a break" changing the president party to National Action Party (PAN), that in the end started a sudden undeclared war against narcotrafic and drug lords and ended up with more than 60,000 dead in the last few years. AMLO, in the other hand, is the face of the left party in Mexico, Democratic Revolution Party (PRD). Much of the critique against this guy, AMLO, is that he tried to win the election with a populist campaign, giving the impression that he was all good and he came from the people, to the people. Many started thinking that he actually created a religion upon his person. His followers were called "zombies" "amloists" and other terms.

As a side note, you must know that this guy, AMLO, back in 2006, ran as president candidate with a very similar campaign, and after losing, with fraud during the election, to the PAN's candidate, our actual presidente, Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, he called all the country to start blocking the traffic, called to arms, and started doing a series of things that embarrased the country world wide. Nevertheless, the continued his campaign for 6 years up to date, and ran again to the election.

During the 1st of July, there were many (and I mean A LOT) inconsistencies with the capture of the counting of votes, there were fraud, bought votes for dispenses, and many other tricks to fool people. In addition to that, during the campaign period, the PRI's candidate, EPN, was supported by many companies as "the good guy" and "the new face of the PRI", and there was a lot of modified information that put him always in the first place on the polls and surveys. To try to counter that force of the party, a student movement, very similar to 1968, called YOSOY132 (I am 132, long story about it, you google it) started hitting the streets to shout and denounce the atrocities commited by EPN during his administration in one of the states of Mexico, among other things. The name of the movement was poluted by critics who claim that this movement was made by AMLO in order to win the election. Many MANY MAAAAANY students and college professors bought the idea. Primarily, the commitment of YOSOY132 was to stop EPN getting to the presidency. During the quick count of  voting, it was said that EPN won fair and square with a difference of 3% over AMLO.

Riots started spreading around the city of Mexico because of two things. YOSOY132 movement didn't want him as president, as well as they wanted AMLO. AND, people who voted for EPN for 500 pesos (that's about 37-39 USD) did not received their money, or the people who got it in a supper card were fooled. They only received 100 pesos (that's about 9-10 USD).

As the country draws nearer to chaos, AMLO is about to refute the election results. The sad news I got today were in Facebook, when a fellow deviant darkexejoker was murdered in Mexicalli, at the north of the country. His mother wrote in his journal as a last note:

"This July 1st of the current year my son Ivan Tello Martinez went to vote with his friends, when a shootout started in the polling booth in Mexicalli, he was online in this page (dA), when some hooded men drag him up a truck shouting at him:
" YOU SON OF A BITCH STOP RECORDING, YOU'RE FROM 132 PRICK, LET'S SEE IF THEY COME TO HELP YOU "
They picked him up and in the struggle he lost the cellphone, picking it up by a friend of his, with this page open. He was thrown at a highway side, dead with a gunshot in the liver and another in the forehead.
I don't ask for help to the authorities because I know I won't get any. I'M LEAVING THE COUNTRY NOW I'VE GOT MY TICKET. I can't stay here.
I just ask to distribute the story, just so you know this elections were not peaceful.
MOVEMENT YO SOY 132 (I AM 132). An upset mother supports you. Now more than ever don't hold back."

You can read the original story (in spanish) here: fav.me/d3maozv
Edit: There are some inconsistencies with the last bit of story, so IT MAY BE A FAKE, according to some comments in the link shown. I'm investigating about it. However, the election time in Mexico was a real mess, anyway. And yes, there were other people who died during the day.

I am really struck with this. Please... please... please!! Let there be know in the world we did not have a peaceful election. This one only one of the, at least, 4 deaths I know of that were important. They are kidnapping people, dragging them to jail, or worse and ... it's about to get pretty ugly in this country. I only beg of you to copy-paste it on FB, give links on Twitter, Tumblr, ANYTHING. Thanks for reading.
